The RTA made several big changes to Dubai's buses in 2025: new routes, new shelters and a large order of new buses.

Five new routes (August 2025)
On 29 August 2025 RTA launched routes 31 (Silicon Oasis to Outsource City), 62A and 62B (from Al Qusais), F26A (Onpassive to Al Quoz Industrial Area 4) and the express X91 (Al Ghubaiba to Jebel Ali), and changed nine others (RTA). Details are in our route updates article.
637 new buses (June 2025)
In June 2025 RTA signed deals worth AED 1.1 billion for 637 low-emission buses with Euro 6 engines, for delivery in 2025 and 2026. They include 40 electric buses from Zhongtong, plus city buses, double-deckers and articulated buses from other makers, and an agreement with BYD to trial an electric bus (Gulf News).
595 new bus shelters (December 2025)
By December 2025 RTA had completed 595 of 762 planned bus shelters, 89% of the project. The shelters serve stops used by more than 192 million passengers a year (Dubai Media Office).
More riders
Dubai's public transport carried 395 million riders in the first half of 2025, 9% more than a year earlier (Gulf Business).
