About This Area

Liberation Tower is Kuwait's iconic 372-meter (1,220-foot) telecommunications tower and national monument located on Abdullah Al-Salem Street near Safat Square in downtown Kuwait City. The second-tallest structure in Kuwait and the 39th tallest building in the world, Liberation Tower was originally constructed to commemorate Kuwait's liberation from Iraqi occupation during the 1991 Gulf War. Completed in 1996 and officially opened on March 10, 1996, by the late Emir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the tower stands as a powerful symbol of Kuwait's resilience, freedom, and technological progress.

Getting Here by Bus
