Mangaf Landmark: History, Access & Visitor Information

About This Area

Mangaf is a suburban coastal district located in the Ahmadi Governorate, approximately 36 kilometers south of Kuwait City on the Arabian Gulf coast. With a population of approximately 73,378, Mangaf represents one of Kuwait's most rapidly developing coastal communities. Historically, Mangaf evolved from an agricultural village built upon a hill overlooking the sea (the Arabic term "النقفه" refers to either the area's geography or its historical maritime challenges). The area is divided into five distinct plots (ق1-ق5), with plots 4-1-5 located along the Arabian Gulf coastline featuring scenic waterfront development.

Getting Here by Bus

Mangaf is accessible via CityBus and KPTC routes serving southern Kuwait coastal areas. Multiple bus stops serve different zones throughout the district including Mangaf Bus Station (600 meters center), Mangaf Infirmary Station (1.9 km), Sa'ad Bin Hamlan Station (1.5 km), and British Medical Centre Station (3.5 km). Buses operate continuously from 4:00 AM to midnight. Travel time from downtown Kuwait City ranges from 50-65 minutes depending on specific location and traffic.
