Terminals 3 and 4 serve as secondary international terminals, handling overflow traffic from the primary Terminals 1-2. They're newer additions to the airport complex and represent the airport's expansion to accommodate growing international traffic to Riyadh.
Metro Access & Convenience
Like Terminals 1-2, Terminals 3-4 have direct Yellow Line metro access. The experience is virtually identical: follow "Metro" signage from Arrivals, use escalators/elevators to descend to platform level (approximately 5-minute walk with moving walkways), and board the Yellow Line heading downtown.
The metro journey times, fares, and frequency are exactly the same as from Terminals 1-2—approximately 30 minutes to downtown, SAR 4 for a 2-hour pass, and trains every 5-7 minutes during standard hours.
Terminal Experience
Terminals 3-4 tend to be slightly less crowded than the primary Terminals 1-2, which some travelers appreciate. The facilities are modern and meet international standards with restaurants, cafes, duty-free shopping, prayer facilities, nursing areas, and restrooms.
Navigation & First-Timers
The primary difference that some travelers note is that wayfinding signage in Terminals 3-4 could potentially be slightly clearer about metro access compared to Terminals 1-2, though it's certainly adequate. Once you understand where to look, accessing the metro is straightforward.
Passenger Experience
Users report positive experiences from Terminals 3-4, particularly appreciating the shorter queues compared to the larger terminals. International travelers successfully navigate the metro access, and the remainder of the journey downtown is identical to that from other terminals.
