Abu Dhabi Central Bus Station: Location, Buses to Dubai and Al Ain, and City Routes

Abu Dhabi Central Bus Station, also called Abu Dhabi Bus Station or the Main Bus Terminal, is in Al Wahda, on Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum Street (2nd Street), close to Al Wahda Mall (Property Finder, June 2026). It's the city's main stop for intercity buses: to Dubai, to Al Ain, and west to Al Dhafra.

Intercity buses

To Dubai, the E100 and E101 cost AED 25 one way. They're Dubai buses, so you need a nol card, not a Hafilat card, and the driver doesn't take cash. Take the E100 for Bur Dubai and Deira, or the E101 if you're going to the Metro Red Line, Dubai Marina or JLT. The non-stop bus to Al Quoz in Dubai doesn't leave from here. It starts at MBZ City Bus Station, on the mainland.

To Al Ain, take the X90. To Liwa or Ruwais, take the X60 or X88. Published fares for the X90 disagree, and we couldn't confirm the X60 and X88 fares or whether these buses take cash as well as the Hafilat card, so ask at the station or check the Darbi app before you travel.

City buses

To the airport

No airport bus starts at the bus station. The A2 is the nearest: it runs along Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Street and Khalifa Bin Zayed Street to Terminal A of Zayed International Airport. The Abu Dhabi airport bus guide explains where to catch it.

Paying

Abu Dhabi city buses take the Hafilat card. You tap in when you board and tap out when you get off. The Dubai buses (E100 and E101) take nol cards only, and nol cards are sold in Dubai, so buy one before your first trip from Abu Dhabi if you can.

Timings

For departures, check in the Darbi app or on itc.gov.ae, and the RTA S'hail app for the E100 and E101. Queues for Dubai are longest before and after weekends and public holidays.
