Dubai Metro Timings: Red and Green Line Hours by Day
Dubai Metro hours by day for the Red and Green lines, the later Sunday start, the Friday late finish, Dubai Tram hours, and holiday changes.
The Red and Green lines keep the same hours (RTA; Property Finder, October 2026):
| Day | Red and Green lines |
|---|---|
| Monday to Thursday | 5 AM to midnight |
| Friday | 5 AM to 1 AM (Saturday) |
| Saturday | 5 AM to midnight |
| Sunday | 8 AM to midnight |
The two things to remember: the Metro starts later on Sunday, at 8 AM, and runs an hour later on Friday night.
First and last trains
These are the hours the network is open. RTA also publishes a timetable for each station, and the first and last trains at a station can be a few minutes either side of these times. The RTA S'hail app shows the next trains from your station.
Dubai Tram
The Dubai Tram runs from 6 AM to 1 AM, Monday to Saturday, and from 9 AM to 1 AM on Sunday (RTA).
Holidays, Ramadan and big events
RTA changes the hours for Eid, New Year's Eve and some big events, usually by running later. For Eid Al Adha in 2026, the Metro ran until 1 AM every night (Gulf News). In Ramadan the Metro has kept its usual hours. RTA announces holiday hours ahead of each holiday, so check before a late trip.
Getting to and from the Metro
The Red Line stops at DXB Terminals 1 and 3; see Dubai airport by Metro and bus. Fares depend on how many zones you travel through; see Dubai fare zones and the nol card guide. A change from the Metro to a bus within 30 minutes counts as one journey.
