Bus on Demand Riyadh: How to Book, Price, Hours and Zones
How Riyadh's Bus on Demand works: booking in the darb app, hours, zones, the Metro stations it links, and the price.
Bus on Demand is Riyadh's bookable bus service. Instead of waiting for a timetabled bus, you book a ride in the darb app, walk to a nearby pickup point, and one of the white on-demand vehicles collects you. It adds to the Metro and the regular bus routes rather than replacing them.
How to book
- Open the darb app (App Store, Google Play) and choose Bus on Demand.
- Enter where you want to be picked up and where you're going.
- The app shows a pickup point near you. Walk there and board.
Destination KSA describes the same steps (Destination KSA, October 2025).
Hours
| Day | Hours |
|---|---|
| Saturday to Thursday | 5 AM to midnight |
| Friday | 9 AM to midnight |
These are from Destination KSA's October 2025 report. Check the app for the current hours in your zone.
Where it runs
In April 2026 the service covered 15 zones along main roads, including King Fahd Road, Airport Road, the Eastern, Northern and Southern Ring Roads, Makkah Al Mukarramah Road, Khurais Road and Al Kharj Road (Destination KSA, April 2026).
The same report lists four Metro stations with Bus on Demand pickups:
- SAB Bank and Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib, on the Blue Line.
- Aishah Bint Abi Bakr Street and Dhahrat Al Badiah, on the Orange Line.
Zones change as the service grows, and an October 2025 report named a different set of neighbourhood zones. The darb app shows whether your address is covered.
Price
Bus on Demand is free with a valid Metro or bus ticket, according to the darb app's own description (App Store). A two-hour Metro and bus ticket costs SAR 4, and a pass covers it too. See the Darb card guide for tickets and passes.
