Riyadh Metro timings: 5:30 AM to midnight, Friday from 10 AM, Ramadan hours, the last train, and the six lines.
The Riyadh Metro runs from 5:30 AM to midnight, and from 10 AM to midnight on Fridays (Riyadh Public Transport). The same hours apply on all six lines.

Riyadh Public Transport doesn't publish a first or last train for each station, so check the screens on the platform or the Darb app if you're travelling early or late.
The Riyadh Metro was inaugurated by King Salman in November 2024 and opened to passengers in stages. All six lines and 85 stations have been open since January 2025.
Correction, October 2026: an earlier version of this article gave a 5 AM opening time, train frequencies, ridership figures and Line 7 dates we couldn't verify. We've removed or corrected them.
Opening timeline
The Blue (Line 1), Yellow (Line 4) and Purple (Line 6) lines opened on 1 December 2024, the Red (Line 2) and Green (Line 5) lines on 15 December 2024, and the Orange line (Line 3) on 5 January 2025, completing the network.
Hours
Since September 2025 the Metro opens at 5:30 AM (Gulf News), and it runs until midnight. On Fridays it opens at 10 AM. Some guides give an 8 AM Friday start, but Riyadh Public Transport's own route page says 10 AM. Hours change for Ramadan (in Ramadan 2026: 8 AM to 2:30 AM Sunday to Thursday, 11 AM to 3 AM Friday, 11 AM to 2:30 AM Saturday, per List), Eid and major events. Check the Darb app for the last train.
